Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Les and I have been married for 40 years now! Our Kids are our most important experience. Thanks for all you've taught us. We are proud of all of you. We wish we lived closer to all of you. We enjoy hearing from all of you and seeing the pictures of you all.
We had rain for a week and a half before Christmas. It stopped raining for travel time. Then it started snowing right after Christmas. There is now enough snow for Alan to have his tubing run in the front yard. Dad was thigh deep in snow going to his backyard shed. Alan noticed the roof of the back enclosure was ready to break. So Dad and Marc cleared that roof and the shed roof just in time. It is still snowing (down!). The roads are terrible, but are to be ok by tomorrow night. We'll see.
Dad has built a new front porch and walk out of 2x redwood. He designed and built an enclosure off the back door, and a greenhouse shed in the backyard. His back is still killing him. He has high blood pressure and winter coughs, but he still keeps going. His winter lay off started right after Thanksgiving. That helped his health but not his pay. It looks like social security is finally going up some. So he will have some income.
We are fortunate to have Marc's family for the Christmas break. Kristie's family visiting some of the break. And Troy's family for Christmas weekend. It's fun to see everyone. We enjoy seeing the family interactions. Christmas was wonderful with little ones here. Rebekah, with Jo as her scribe, figured out the chime patterns for some Christmas songs. She then organized a Family Home Evening. Stan gave a lesson and everyone helped play the chime songs. A very pleasant time together.
